Using unprecedented real footage, The Hornet's Nest tells the story of an elite group of US soldiers sent on a dangerous mission deep inside one of Afghanistan's most hostile valleys.
According to unconfirmed reports from regional sources, a US special forces soldier, who was cornered by Taliban militants in the restive Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, miraculously survived by killing or wounding at least 7 Taliban fighters using only his knife.
While specific details are unavailable due to the nature of the operation, the incident reportedly took place in November 2018 in the Bati Kot district of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.
The special forces soldier reportedly got separated from his unit during an intense firefight in a remote village in the eastern Afghan province. Running low on ammunition, he took refuge in a vacant house as he was pursued by at least 7 heavily armed Taliban militants.
By the time his unit located him for extraction from the area, he had reportedly killed or severely wounded all of the militants who pursued him into the house.
The reports added that the soldier only suffered minor injuries and his entire unit safely returned from the village in Bati Kot district after completing the operation, which resulted in neutralizing a significant number of Taliban fighters.
Despite repeated Afghan and coalition operations, swathes of Nangarhar province have remained under the control or influence of Taliban and Daesh militants for years.
