Global Defense - In Photos: The 1965 India-Pakistan War

September 11, 2018

The 1965 war between India and Pakistan is said to be the the one of the most fiercely fought wars since World War II. It was intensely fought on the ground and air, and the five-week war caused thousands of casualties on both sides.

Eventually, both sides agreed to a UN mandated cease-fire, ending the war, which by that point had reached a stalemate. However, it created mistrust between the two countries that still continues.
